About STEMpedic Foundation
The STEMpedic Foundation was founded by Naomi Demessie and Hiwot Andargachew, two dedicated high school sophomores, who recognized a significant gap in the educational experiences of children facing long-term hospital stays, homelessness, and displacement. Motivated by this need, Naomi and Hiwot established the STEMpedic Foundation to bring STEM education directly to these young people, ensuring that difficult circumstances do not limit their educational and personal growth.
STEMpedic is a student-led organization committed to providing children in hospitals, homeless shelters, and refugee centers with engaging educational opportunities. Through STEM kits and books, we aim to create vibrant learning environments, where children can participate in hands-on activities and feel a sense of normalcy. Our team believes that fostering curiosity and enthusiasm for learning can profoundly impact these young individuals, inspiring them to explore, discover, and learn with optimism, regardless of the challenges they face.
